“I hadn’t even noticed anything wrong. But he said that if it were his house, he wouldn’t accept it. They removed all the tile, bought new material, and redid the work.”

Planning a Kitchen Remodel
A Kitchen That Finally Works the Way Your Family Does
Room to cook together. Storage that makes sense. Light where you work. What stands between you and that kitchen is a hundred decisions and a dozen trades. One in-house team carries both, including:
- A layout planned around how you actually cook and gather
- Design guidance for cabinets, counters, and finishes, so nothing clashes
- A defined scope, budget, and schedule before demolition starts
- Our own licensed crews handling plumbing, electrical, and installation
- Lighting, ventilation, and storage details built to last
You make the choices that matter. We carry them through to the finished kitchen.

Why Choose Us
Discover Why 70%+ of Our Work Comes from Word of Mouth
Permits, budget, timeline, and communication stay connected through one accountable process.
Learn moreLearn morePermits, Plans, and City Coordination
Los Angeles remodeling often means permits, plan check, inspections, and coordination with city requirements. We keep those steps connected to the design and construction plan so they do not become a separate burden for you.
- We review permit needs early.
- We coordinate plans and documentation with the remodel scope.
- We treat inspections as part of the process, not an afterthought.
- We connect design decisions to build requirements through one accountable team.
Scope Clarity Before Construction
Budget surprises usually begin with unclear scope. We help define the work, identify construction realities, and connect finish choices to the plan before the job is underway.
- We discuss the scope before work begins.
- We clarify material priorities early.
- We surface potential cost drivers during planning.
- We explain changes before moving forward.
A Schedule Based On Real Work
We organize the schedule around the real construction sequence: planning, ordering, permits, demolition, trades, inspections, finishes, and final details.
- We connect milestones to actual work phases.
- We coordinate trades through one accountable team.
- We communicate delays and decisions clearly.
- We include the final walkthrough in the schedule.
Communication Without Chasing
You should not have to chase a contractor to understand your own remodel. We keep decisions, milestones, and construction updates visible.
- We provide regular updates during active work.
- We clarify the decisions you need to make next.
- We keep design and construction connected through one team.
- Our owners stay involved through key project moments.

Our Process
How We Bring Your Kitchen Remodel to Life
Five steps keep planning, design, permits, construction, and final review connected.
Learn moreLearn moreScope Review and Consultation
We start in your kitchen, watching how it actually gets used: cooking, homework, gathering. You describe the vision; we note the utilities, walls, and workflow behind it. Clients hear early what drives cost and what does not.
Design, Scope, and Budget Planning
Donna develops the layout and finish selections. Eli prices the construction behind them. A new island affects more than seating: cabinet storage, appliance access and room to move all need to work together. The written scope connects those design choices to your budget.
Plans, Permits, and Schedule
Permits, cabinet orders and appliance lead times get sequenced before demolition. Design and ordering time are separate from the weeks your kitchen is under construction. The schedule accounts for inspections and installation, with key selections settled before work starts.
Construction and Updates
Demolition, rough plumbing and electrical, drywall, cabinets, counters, tile, and paint follow a fixed order. Our own crews run it, with daily updates and a temporary cooking plan that keeps the house running.
Final Walkthrough and Completion
The final walkthrough checks craftsmanship where you use it: drawers that open properly, cabinet alignment, grout and caulk, and light over the work surfaces. We review the completed kitchen with you against the agreed scope and identify any remaining items for closeout.
FAQ
Fit, Layout, Selections, Permits, Cost Drivers, Timeline, and Final Details
Resolve the questions that most often create design overwhelm, scope uncertainty, contractor surprises, and unfinished handoffs.
Learn moreLearn moreWhat kinds of kitchen projects are a fit?
Full kitchen remodels, meaningful layout changes, kitchen-and-pantry work, and connected kitchen and living transformations fit best. Isolated jobs like appliance replacement, cabinet refacing, or counter-only work are generally not the fit; this service is built for coordinated layout, selections, permits, and multiple trades.
Do I need a finished kitchen design before contacting you?
No. Bring your ideas, photos and a list of what gets in the way now. Perhaps two people cannot pass in the galley, pans are hard to reach, or the dishwasher blocks a walkway. Those details help us plan a kitchen renovation around the space you have and the changes you want.
Who helps with layout and finish selections?
Donna guides the layout, cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, lighting, flooring, hardware and fixtures. Eli and the construction team connect those choices to scope, procurement and schedule. Alongside color and style, consider storage, durability and upkeep. Check countertop samples and the manufacturer's care instructions before deciding. A finish you love should also fit the way you cook and clean.
What does owners on every kitchen job mean?
Eli and Donna remain connected to construction and design accountability rather than handing the project from a salesperson to disconnected vendors. A dedicated project manager runs active coordination and daily progress communication.
Will my kitchen remodel require permits?
The property and work determine the permit path. For a City of Los Angeles, CA home, LADBS offers Express Permits for some kitchen remodels. More complex work may require plan check. Plumbing, electrical, mechanical and structural changes need review for the applicable permits and inspections. Homes in other cities follow their own building department's process. We coordinate the agreed permit work within your written scope. Approvals are the department's decision.
What affects kitchen remodeling cost?
Keeping the existing layout and moving walls or utilities are different scopes of work. Cabinet construction, countertop materials, tile details, appliances, flooring, lighting and hidden conditions also affect cost. When comparing estimates from contractors, check whether material purchases, fabrication, installation and permits are included or listed as allowances. An allowance is a budget placeholder. Selections can change the total. Your project receives a written estimate once the scope is defined.
What affects the timeline?
Separate design, permitting and ordering from active construction. Cabinet lead times, appliance availability and selections can affect when work starts. Inspections, trade sequencing and hidden conditions can affect completion. We set a project-specific timeline and provide daily updates. Before demolition, discuss how long the kitchen is expected to be unavailable and what temporary cooking arrangements make sense for your household.
How do you reduce design overwhelm?
Start with the decisions you use every day. At Gothic Avenue in Granada Hills, the homeowners described planning the number and width of drawers around their spice jars and utensils. Donna and her team help turn that kind of detail into cabinetry, then narrow the countertops, tile, lighting and hardware to suit it. Your kitchen design develops from how you live in the room.
How will the home be protected during construction?
Site access, dust and surface protection, demolition, deliveries, staging, trade sequencing, and temporary kitchen considerations are discussed for the agreed scope. Exact disruption depends on the project and cannot be eliminated universally.
How are hidden conditions or scope changes handled?
New findings or requested changes are documented and explained. Design, permit, procurement, cost, and schedule effects are reviewed before related work proceeds. The completed kitchen gets reviewed with you against the agreed scope before closeout.
