We first started thinking about renovating the upstairs bathroom because the tiles were literally falling off the walls in the shower. While looking for contractors, we came across a lot of great reviews on Yelp for Quality First Builders. One thing that really caught my attention was that Eli, the contractor and owner, works with his wife, Donna, who is a designer. I believe she studied design at UCLA. Knowing she would help guide the design process made things feel less overwhelming, and that was a big reason we decided to reach out. We invited them over to talk about the bathroom. But during that conversation, I mentioned how much I actually wanted to remodel the kitchen too. After discussing it more, we realized that from an economy of scale perspective, it would make sense to do both projects at once. I’m really glad we made that decision. We started the renovation in mid-August and finished in October, which felt like a normal timeframe to us. Eli initially predicted we might finish a little sooner, but some of our own change requests extended the timeline. Still, the process went very smoothly. Everyone from the Quality First Builders team was professional and respectful. The people who worked on our home, including the subcontractors, were excellent. They worked hard, stayed organized, and always kept the site clean. In the beginning, we worked closely with Donna. She went with us to pick out appliances, plumbing fixtures, and tile. She had amazing suggestions and thought of everything, things we wouldn’t have realized we needed until she brought them up. Her guidance was incredibly helpful, and my husband really appreciated her support throughout the process. We got exactly what we hoped for. We love how everything turned out and are so happy with the quality. The cabinetry is excellent, the butcher block is beautiful, and every detail feels top-notch. There was even a moment in the middle of the project where I had a bit of a panic attack about the ceiling beams in the kitchen. I thought they were going to feel too heavy and close in the space. I called Eli, and he came over right away. We talked through some options and ultimately decided to move forward with the original plan. He was willing to do whatever it took to make sure I felt good about it, and that level of care really meant a lot to us. We both highly recommend Quality First Builders. The experience was professional, collaborative, and truly rewarding. We are thrilled with the final result.
