I first worked with Quality First Builders about six years ago on a condo renovation. It was an interior-only project, and I had interviewed around seven contractors. I ultimately chose Eli and Donna because, although all the contractors had great reviews, their team felt more full service. Eli also showed me Donna’s Instagram, and I really liked her style. Most importantly, Eli was the only one who confidently told me he could complete the job within my very tight timeline. I was extremely pregnant at the time and needed everything done before the baby arrived. It was a three-week deadline, and they got it done. They did a beautiful job. Of course, with any renovation, you uncover surprises when opening up walls, but everything was handled flawlessly. Fast forward to purchasing a new house, and I knew I would work with Eli and Donna again. I already trusted them, I liked their style, and I knew they were reliable. This time, they far exceeded my expectations. They built me my dream home. From the beginning, there were challenges. Due to restrictions, we couldn’t open up the kitchen the way we wanted. But honestly, I’m glad that happened, because Donna came up with an incredible new floor plan. Eli also suggested lifting the roof. I was hesitant at first, but it turned out to be the best decision. It opened everything up, and with the added windows and skylights, the house became bright, airy, and full of natural light. Working with Eli and Donna felt like a true partnership. We collaborated constantly, and they truly listened to what I wanted. As the project evolved, I kept adding ideas. I asked for a large island with seating, a drink station, a built-in nook with banquet seating, a desk, and smart storage. They delivered on everything. I was also very particular about the stone for the countertops, and Donna found beautiful slabs that were exactly what I envisioned. For the master bathroom, I had a long wish list. I wanted a private bidet room, a black freestanding spa bubble tub, a sauna, a large wooden vanity to match the sauna, a steam shower, and heated floors. They fit nearly all of it into the space. The only exception was the steam shower, which couldn’t be done due to venting restrictions. We started with three bathrooms and ended up with six. I originally wanted heated floors in all of them, but the cost was too high. Eli and Donna proposed a smart alternative, installing heaters in each bathroom, which worked perfectly and was more budget-friendly. What impressed me most was their integrity. One day, Eli called to say he wasn’t happy with the workmanship on a couple of finished bathrooms. I hadn’t even noticed anything wrong. But he said that if it were his house, he wouldn’t accept it. They removed all the tile, bought new material, and redid the work. That level of honesty is rare, and it told me how much pride they take in what they do. They also know how to design a home for a real family. As parents themselves, they understood my needs before I even said them out loud. The house works beautifully, and I still can’t believe this is my home. It’s better than anything I ever imagined, and I’m so glad I decided to move forward when I did. If you have a project, whether it’s big or small, don’t hesitate to work with Quality First Builders. I’ve done both kinds with them, and I would recommend them to anyone. You will not be disappointed.
